How to choose what appears on your Kitchen Display?

Filter your display to show only the items relevant to a specific station—for example, sending food orders to your kitchen screen and drink orders to your bar screen.

By default, a Kitchen Display shows every item on every paid order. To filter this view, use Item Routes: Custom groups of item categories that route to specific displays or printers. To find more about creating Item Routes, view here.

Please note: You must have at least one active Item Route at your site before enabling item routing. If no routes exist, selecting Use item routing will prompt you to create one. Item Routes can be set up on your Zeller POS tablet under Item Management.

To get started, open the Kitchen Display on your tablet:

  1. Tap Settings in the top right.
  2. Under Display, select Use item routing.
  3. Tap each route you want this display to show.
  4. Tap the X in the top right to close settings.

Your display will now show only the items in your selected routes. Settings save automatically as you make changes.

To display everything again, simply select Show all items.

Option Breakdown

  • Show all items (Default): Displays every item on every paid order.
  • Use item routing: Shows only items whose categories are included in your selected routes. If you select Use item routing without checking any routes, the screen will continue to show all items

Please note:

  • Item-by-item filtering: Filtering applies per item, not per order. For example, an order containing both food and drinks will display food on the kitchen screen and drinks on the bar screen. If an order contains no items matching the selected routes, it will not appear on that display at all.
  • Custom amounts: Items entered as custom amounts do not belong to an item category, so they will not appear on screens using item routing. If you rely on custom amounts, leave your display set to Show all items.

Showing the same items on two screens

To display the same tickets on two screens, set up a second Kitchen Display and assign it the same routes. Each screen tracks its tickets independently, so clearing an order on one display won't clear it on the other.

To show items on a screen and print them on paper, add the same route to your printer settings. To find more on how to choose which items print to a printer, view here.
