Zeller POS vs Zeller POS Lite

Zeller gives you two ways to run point of sale, and both are included with your Zeller account at no extra cost. They share most of the same selling features. The real differences are the device you run them on, the receipts and dockets you can print, and how much room you have on screen.

Zeller POS Lite

POS Lite is the point of sale built right into your Zeller Terminal, so you can start selling straight away with no extra hardware. It is ideal for selling on the go, smaller counters, or taking a quick sale directly on the terminal.

Zeller POS

Zeller POS is the full point-of-sale app that runs on a supported tablet, paired with a Zeller Terminal to take card payments. It suits busier venues that want a larger screen, itemised receipts, and kitchen and customer dockets.

You can use both together

You do not have to choose. Many businesses run Zeller POS on a tablet at the counter and use handheld Zeller Terminals running POS Lite out on the floor or on the go, all on the same Zeller account and catalogue. Take orders at the table, at a market stall, or anywhere away from the counter, and keep the tablet as your main register.

Can I give my customers an itemised receipt?

Itemised receipts, the kind that list each product, quantity and price, are available on Zeller POS on a tablet. They can be printed to a connected printer or sent to your customer as an e-receipt.

POS Lite prints a payment summary receipt from the terminal's built-in printer. This shows the sale amount, any surcharge or tip, the total, tax and the card details, but it does not list the individual items. If your customers need itemised receipts, set up Zeller POS on a tablet.

Which one do I need?

Choose POS Lite if you want to start selling immediately with no extra hardware, you sell on the go, or a payment summary receipt is all you need.

Choose Zeller POS if you want the larger tablet screen at your counter, itemised receipts, or kitchen and customer dockets.

Use both if you want a tablet register at the counter and handheld terminals for the floor.

You can start on POS Lite and set up Zeller POS on a tablet whenever you are ready, using the same account and catalogue.
