What's the difference between Terminal 1x and Terminal 2?
Zeller offers two terminals in the United Kingdom: Zeller Terminal 1x and Zeller Terminal 2. Both take card payments, both run POS Lite, and both work with the same Zeller account, Dashboard and reporting. The main difference is the built-in receipt printer.

Both terminals run POS Lite
POS Lite is the point of sale built into your Zeller Terminal, and it is included free with your Zeller account. Whichever of these two terminals you choose, you can build a catalogue, apply discounts, take tips, record cash sales, send itemised digital receipts by email, SMS or QR code, and see reports and sales history on the device.
POS Lite does not run on the original Zeller Terminal. If you are on one of those and want POS Lite, you will need a Terminal 1x or a Terminal 2.
Both work with Zeller POS
If you need a full point of sale, Zeller POS runs on an iPad or Android tablet and pairs with either terminal to take payment. Zeller POS adds printed itemised receipts, kitchen and customer dockets, receipt printer and cash drawer support, and an offline mode. Kitchen Display, tabs and table mapping are coming soon.
You build your catalogue once in the Zeller Dashboard and sell from it on either.
Receipts
Terminal 1x has a built-in printer, so it can print a receipt at the counter. Terminal 2 does not, so receipts go out digitally by email, SMS or QR code. Both send digital receipts.
If you need a printed itemised receipt listing what was sold, that comes from Zeller POS with a connected printer. The printer built into Terminal 1x produces a payment summary store copy.
Card acceptance is the same on both
Your card transaction rates do not change based on which terminal you buy. In the United Kingdom, card-present payments are 1.3% for domestic Visa and Mastercard, and 1.99% for American Express, business and commercial cards, and international cards. Diners Club is not accepted on Zeller Terminal in the UK. Full pricing is at myzeller.com/gb/pricing.
Connectivity and the Zeller SIM
Both terminals connect over Wi-Fi and over mobile data using a Zeller SIM, which is free and pre-loaded, so you can keep taking payments if your Wi-Fi drops.
Which one should I choose?
Choose Terminal 1x if you want to hand customers a printed receipt at the counter, or if you sell somewhere a paper receipt is expected. Choose Terminal 2 if you are happy sending receipts digitally and want the lighter device.
Both give you the same card acceptance, the same rates and the same POS Lite point of sale, and both pair with Zeller POS if you want the full tablet point of sale.
For current hardware pricing, see the Zeller Shop at myzeller.com/gb/shop.
