How do I process a magnetic stripe transaction?
Although magstripe transactions are still supported, they have become less common as most cards issued in the UK and internationally now feature chips for contactless or Chip & PIN payments.
In instances where a customer presents a card without a chip, or if the chip is damaged, the Zeller Terminal will prompt you to process the payment by swiping the card.
After signing in to your Zeller Terminal:
- Select Payments from the navigation menu.
- Enter the amount to be charged to your customer.
- Tap Charge.
- Advise your customer to swipe their card.
- Once swiped, advise your customer to complete the transaction by entering their PIN.
After the payment is approved, you may provide the customer with a printed or digital receipt. If a receipt is not required, select New Sale to begin the next transaction.
