Whether you're a new business, growing an existing one, or ready to trade up from SumUp to a better payment solution with low fees, it's worth comparing Zeller with SumUp.

Both solutions let you accept card payments with no contracts and offer a free business account, but their approach to pricing sits at the heart of the comparison. Zeller's pricing is clear: you pay a small fee per transaction, and all features are included at no additional cost. SumUp's lower rates and several of its features sit behind subscription plans.

We've put the two side by side below to help you decide what works for your business.

Zeller vs. SumUp

Online payments

Zeller and SumUp both offer free invoicing, the differences in pricing and features become more apparent on rate and features. With Zeller Invoices, you can create, customise and send invoices for free, with automated payment reminders, tracking and design control all included as standard. Invoice payments are charged at 1.5% for domestic cards*.

SumUp Invoices has a free tier, but customisation, automated reminders, multi-currency, and transfers to any external bank account are all available on Invoices Plus at £8/month. Invoice payments cost 2.5%. For businesses that invoice regularly, the difference in transaction fees alone adds up quickly, and that's before factoring in the monthly subscription cost to access features that come free with Zeller.

Best company to work with. Terminal 2 is an amazing card machine and, most importantly, the funds reach your account within the same day. On top of that the customer service was spot on. Helped with everything I needed and went the extra mile.
